Afterschool Outdoors: Mabie Lane, Rotterdam Junction

We’ll check out an old quarry that’s returned to nature. Turn at the River Road House on Main Street in Rotterdam Junction.

This fun and different program lets kids get out of school rooms and enjoy the many parks and preserves around Schenectady.  The time is 4:30 p.m., and we’re there for about an hour, usually hunting for different plant and animal species and exploring what makes up different environments.  All ages are welcome.  Kids need to be accompanied by parent or guardian.  As usual for ECOS, there’s no fee and pre-registration is not necessary — but you might want to pre-register anyway, to be sure of getting notifications like cancellations.
