Join ECOS: The Environmental Clearinghouse for a casual bicycle ride and learn about that curious RPI nuclear reactor at the Mohawk Harbor site.
Using the bike trail, the ride will go from Mohawk Harbor to Rexford Bridge and back, a total of around eight miles.
Ride support will be provided by members of the bicycle advocacy group Cycle Schenectady. Upon returning, we will hear a presentation about the reactor from an authority on it, and have a chance to ask some questions.
Meet in front of Druthers (221 Harborside Dr, Schenectady, NY 12305) on Thursday, Sept. 24 (rain date Sept. 25) If you come by car, there’s parking in the garage in front as well as the lot behind. The ride will begin at 5 p.m. and the talk around 6:15. Just come for the talk if you wish.
Helmets are mandatory, and bring a mask — which will not be required for the ride, but will be for the talk. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
