This is the next is our series of infrastructure talks hosted by ECOS summer intern, Matthew Tate.
We will be meeting at the Schenectady County Composting and Recycling Center located at 24 Hetcheltown Rd, Schenectady, NY 12302 at 5:00 pm. Participants should park at the front of the center and we will be meeting near the flowers.
The talk will be lead by Nick Klemczak, the director of the facility and should last for about an hour. It will consist of the tour of the composting facility and sharing about the composting process, a tour of the pollination garden and the community garden. Finally Nick will discuss the ways in which the facility works with the Indian Kill Nature Preserve. He will step into the Indian Kill Preserve (which is directly across the street) as part of his presentation.
Additional time walking at the Indian Kill Preserve can be done on your own following the presentation by Nick.
It is not necessary to register for this event.
Please call the ECOS office at (518) 370-4125 the day of the event for a recorded message of cancellation due to foul weather.
