Fall walk: Woodlawn Preserve, Schenectady

We’ll enjoy the many types of asters and goldenrod as well as other surprises around this beautiful selection of woodland, lacustrine vegetation, and pine barrens, and see what’s happening with this preserve-in-progress.  Mostly flat but sometimes muddy.  Leader: Steve Young.  Directions: Adjacent to Woodlawn Elementary School in the extreme southeast of the county, easily approached from the Troy/Schenectady Rd. (Rt. 5) by turning south onto Gifford Rd. and following it past the school to the end.  Address: 1 Gifford Rd., Schenectady, NY 12304.
