Flora Foray: Capital District Wildlife Management Area
June 28 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Starting at Miller Road, Center Berlin**
Bogs and fens (peatlands) are special habitats with their own unique set of plants, from orchids to carnivores. There are two high quality peatlands that we will look at on this excursion, one a poor fen, and the other something close to a bog. (We will discuss the differences!) Both sites are wet and we will be off trail so wear tall boots or shoes that you can get wet. There are no facilities. We meet at 12:30 p.m. to discuss the area and what we’ll see (feel free to bring lunch for this time); walk starts at 1 p.m.
**First parking area on Miller Road south of Taborton Rd, at the junction of Cherry Plain State Park Road
