Flora Foray: Moreau Lake, Moreau Lake State Park

Late in the season Moreau Lake has (usually) receded considerably and the extensive beach and adjoining northern bay host a number of interesting, often annual plants. We will walk from the beach area along the sandy edge of the lake searching for flatsedges in the draw-down zone, and along the mucky edge of the northern section in search of false foxglove and anything else still in flower. The sandy section is firm and easy walking, and the mucky section is usually dry and firm, but may have wet spots.
