Flora Foray: Oakwood Cemetery
December 20 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Oakwood Cemetery is a hidden botanical gem in the city of Troy with many rare plants and some unusual habitats. Because of the late season we won’t see many of the rare and unusual plants this place has in store, but we will be able to look at mosses, evergreen ferns, and trees, and explore some unique habitats like shrub oak barrens and shale outcrops. We will mostly be on plowed roadways, but will make minor excursions off trail. Meeting near the main entrance on Oakwood Ave at 12:30 to discuss the geology and flora details (feel free to bring your lunch), walking at 1 p.m.
