Saturday Ski and Snowshoe Outing: Mohawk River Nature Preserve
We’ll be hiking the Mohawk River Nature Preserve (formerly Mohawk River State Park), leaving from the Lock 7 boat launch parking lot at 10:30. We’ll experience the varied ecosystems in the park, and talk a bit about the geology and hydrology of the location within the Mohawk River/ Barge canal water system.
We will also examine a few of the bridges that are planned to be replaced in the coming year. The planned route is shown here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53779381
Expect ice in spots, so microspikes and trekking poles are recommended. The forecast is frosty so be prepared.
