Second Sunday Bird Walk: Saratoga National Historical Park
July 12 @ 8:00 am - 10:30 am
In celebration of America 250, we’re birding the ‘Turning Point of the Revolution!’ This historic site provides excellent grassland and shrubland habitat for summer open field birds. We’ll bird the Wilkinson Trail from the Visitors Center through shrubland and open fields for Indigo Buntings, Eastern Bluebirds, Orchard Orioles, Bobolinks, Eastern Meadowlarks, and various grassland sparrow specialties.
Walk Duration: 2-1/2 – 3 hours, depending on bird activity. Bring your binoculars if you have them, but if you do not own a pair, we will have a few binoculars to loan out for the walk. We will run the walk in light rain, but predicted thunderstorms for the morning of the walk will cancel. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable footwear – hiking boots if possible. This event is geared towards teenagers and adults. Please register with John by emailing: [email protected].
