Brookhaven Winter Park has 20k of groomed ski trails and recent snow provides good conditions. It also has separate snowshoe trails. The chosen ski trails will be mildly rolling with the group staying together. More difficult terrain may be explored on your own after the organized event. This will be a ski outing and a snowshoe outing for those who choose not to ski. Bare booting is not an option as it would degrade the trails. It is expected to be a breezy day (west winds 10 to 14mph, gusts to 28mph). The temperature should be about 20 degrees, but lower with wind chill.
By the way, there is a suggested optional donation for the trail maintenance (box near start) and equipment of $5.
We will meet in the large parking lot to the right side of the restaurant. (https://theviewatbrookhaven.com/)
Note – the restaurant is closed Tuesdays, so if you want lunch, you need to bring one with you.
Brookhaven Winter Park is at 333 Alpine Meadows Rd., Porter Corners, NY. Using GOOGLE Maps, it takes about 45 minutes to get to the parking lot from Niskayuna.
