Weekday Winter Outing: Bozenkill Preserve

Don Orr will lead this outing to the Bozenkill Preserve near Altamont. This is part of the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy and has been expanded in the past few years. The walk will be on the Lower Main and Floodplain trails which provide gently rolling terrain and access to and views of the creek. Total distance will be about 2 3/4 miles out and back. This will be a SNOWSHOE walk as the trails are not skiable at this time. Microspikes may work as well. Please NO Yaktraks-they’re not meant for this.  Don will have 2 extra pairs of snowshoes and some microspikes for anyone who wants to join but doesn’t have the gear. Hiking/ski poles are also recommended. Meet at the Lower Parking lot on Westfall Rd. before 0930 hrs. There is plenty of parking as they have expanded the lot. Hopefully it will be plowed.
