Afterschool Outdoors: Lisha Kill Natural Area, Niskayuna
This program that lets kids get out of school and enjoy the outdoors after the bell rings. We’ll meet in the parks and wildlife preserves around Schenectady, at 4:30 p.m. on Fridays, so there’s plenty of time to get from school or home to our green locations. We’ll be there for about an hour. Activities will usually involve hunting for different plant and animal species and exploring what makes up different environments. All ages are welcome. Adults should accompany their children.
For the walk on June 12 we’ll visit the beautiful Lisha Kill Natural Area. We’ll head through the woods to walk along the stream, and search for what lives in these different environments. The preserve is at 2518 Rosendale Rd., Niskayuna, with the path next to the old Grange building.
