Birding: Thacher State Park Hawk Watch

Instead of a bird walk, this month ECOS members can join John Loz at the Hawk Watch Fest at Thacher State Park in Voorheesville. Visit the ECOS info table and join John at the official Helderberg Hawk Watch counters station at the overlook to look for and learn to identify migrating raptors that will be flying over the escarpment on their way south. The day will feature food trucks, live birds of prey and activities for kids. There will also be a number of other local environmental organizations sharing their work.

Bring binoculars if you have them; if not, we will have a few pairs to loan out.
