ECOS is bringing its nature walks to Glenville’s Senior Center on Monday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m. Weather permitting, it will start with a crash course in northeast trees, then we’ll take a casual stroll along the “marginal” ecozone between forest and clearing. For the intrepid we may venture into the woods, though poison ivy will limit our paths. There are plenty of “invasive species” to identify and discuss, as well as our native northeasterners. (As gardeners already know, these can also be invasive.) This is a peak time for fall wildflowers, and we’ll discover together what beauties this patch of Glenville has to offer. If weather is not feeling permissive, the rain date is Sept. 30.
