Second Sunday Bird Walk: Waterfowl Walk at Vischer Ferry Nature and Historic Preserve
November 15 @ 8:00 am - 10:30 am
Vischer Ferry Nature and Historic Preserve, Rexford. We’ll meet at the Whipple Bridge parking lot at 8 a.m. This birding “hotspot” has the second highest number of recorded species in the Capital Region and is known for a wide variety of migrating waterfowl. We’ll also be looking for cooler-weather songbirds as well. The preserve is a combination of marshes, bogs, ponds, coniferous and deciduous mixed forest that borders the Mohawk River and since 1997 designated as a National Audubon Society Important Bird Area. After this 2+ hour walk we’ll meet at the Vischer Ferry General Store for some after-walk snacks and beverages.
