Tuesday Ski and Snowshoe Outing: Plotterkill Preserve
January 6 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am
Due to the limited parking at the Plotterkill Preserve Gregg Rd trailhead, the Tuesday, January 6, 2026 ECOS Outing at the Plotterkill Preserve will meet at the Kiwanis Park upper parking lot on Route 5S across from the Hungry Chicken at 9:30. Participants can carpool from there.
We will hike with traction devices about 3 plus miles on the upper shoulder of the Plotterkill. We won’t cross the creek & the terrain is not easily skied. Total elevation change over 3 miles is about 200 ft. This section of the Plotterkill is nearly flat with nice views, pleasant forest & minimal exposure. If there is interest, there are several options for extending the hike.
To sign up or for additional details, please contact Outing leader Bob Cooley at 518 669 6093 or email Bob at [email protected].
To attend an outing, you will need to contact the leader of the day.
Outings will be at locations generally within the Capital District. Locations are based on snow conditions each week. Last year we had many “traction gear” outings when the snow did not cooperate.
ECOS participants MUST stay with the group. Bring your own water and snack and dress in layers.
Bruce Bonacquist is compiling a new list of those who wish to be notified of ski/snowshoe outing details. Please email him at [email protected] if you want to be included in the email notifications.
