Indian Kill Preserve:
An 100-acre forest along the bluffs and banks of the Indian Kill,
with eleven species of ferns and wildflowers abundant along the creek. Some steep areas,
although steps provide decent footing. Leader: Steve Jones. Directions: Preserve parking is
directly across from the Soil & Water Department facilities on Hetcheltown Rd. (Rt. 31);
Hetcheltown becomes Maple Ave. (Rt. 29) after the traffic circle to the south; therefore you can
reach it from Freeman’s Bridge Rd., turning north (east) onto Maple; or from Glenridge Rd.,
turning right onto Hetcheltown. The address of the facilities is 24 Hetcheltown Rd.,
Schenectady.
