This fall our guided walks include several preserves and leaders curtesy of the Mohawk Hudson
Land Conservancy (MHLC). All walks are on Tuesday at 10 a.m., and last around 2 hours. There
is no pre-registration. For information email [email protected]. Cancellations or
changes may be found at www.ecosny.org or www.facebook.com/ecosny.
OCT. 3 Keleher Preserve:
Of all MHLC’s preserves, Keleher is known for feeling the most
remote, with an elevation above Thacher Park. Forested trails lead to a lookout from Wolf Hill
to long downhills past nestled streams, over moderate terrain. Leader: Cary Patak, MHLC
steward. Directions: The leader recommends the winter access from Rt. 443 in Clarksville, left
up Cass Hill Rd., to a right up Gulf Hill Rd.; Google Maps takes you from Rt. 85 to Gulf Hill, which
is doable except in wintry weather.
