Zoom Speaker Series: Capital Region Land Management Trends

Marshall Lefebvre will review broad land management practices and trends in the Capital Region and discuss what challenges and needs may be driving them. This discussion will address observations of practices on public and private lands, the varying types of “conserved” lands, as well as the interplays of commercial, residential, and protected areas.

Lefebvre (“la fever”) is the stewardship director for the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy, serving Albany, Montgomery, and Schenectady counties. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Marshall has a degree in conservation ecology, and prior to joining MHLC in 2022, he worked as a landscape restoration technician with NYS Parks and forest health researcher with Cornell University.
